I’ve been out of genealogy for awhile and I have to keep looking back in my records to find the info you ask about. So, if I leave something out, just ask and I will look again. There’s a lot of confusing information on the Nabors line. As far as anyone can tell, “our” William has not been truly connected to any one of the Neighbors (various sp) lines that are known. There must be a missing link that has yet to be identified. So, William is as far back as we’ve gotten.
OK- as for Matilda LANE (maiden name), she married #1 Elbert Jones in 1821 and #2 William Nabors. I posted previously that Margaret was her sister. That was incorrect. Margaret was Matilda’s daughter. Margaret continued living with William, even after Matilda died from “fitts” (1850 AL mortality index). I’m so sorry for the confusion, the “sister” connection was the first theory until Matilda Lane & Elbert Jones’ marriage record was found. Robert Turner and I corresponded on this topic quite frequently last year, he keeps up with it much more than I do. Also, have you corresponded with John McPherson? He is descended from Matilda Nabors & husband #2 Basil Manley McPherson. I hope this helps!
