Bob,
Indeed we have a match! Here's all the info. that I have (not including the info. you have given me):
William Nabors b.@ 1798-1805 SC d. 1874 (will)
assumed marriage to Matilda Jones
(assumption made according to AL 1850 mortality census) she was b. @1807 d. Feb. 1850. (Also, her dates are on her grave marker.)
Their children were: (these 3 were mentioned in his will)
1. Isaac Nabors b. 1842 Tuscaloosa, AL
m/ Louisa b. 1851 AL
2. Nellie Nabors b. 1/10/1844 Tuscaloosa, AL
d. 12/19/1934 AL buried Union Chapel Cemetery (north of Tuscaloosa)
She had her first 3 children by ???. Her fourth child, John Avington Nabors, was fathered by Thomas Tennyson Dunn. She then married James Monroe Thompson on 6/30/1878 Tuscaloosa, AL and produced 2 more children.
3. Rebecca Catherine "Kate" Nabors b. 1847 Tuscaloosa, AL buried Berry, AL
m/ ? Davis
After Matilda's death, William and Matilda's sister, Margaret, produced a child and named her Matilda. She was born 12/14/1854 Tuscaloosa, AL d. 7/7/1892 Tuscaloosa, AL buried Pineywoods Cemetery. She married #1 George Honeycutt on 8/2/1871 Tusc., AL
(George b. 4/1/1850 Tusc., AL d. 1/5/1883 Tusc., AL buried Cripple Creek Cemetery) and #2 Basil Manley McPherson 8/10/1884 Tusc., AL
You mentioned a William Nabors who bought land in Jefferson Co. That is the William Nabors from the "Nabors Book" and is not to be confused with our William. There has not been a connection made to our William and the Nabors book. Our William is found only in Tuscaloosa (to my knowledge).
Hope this helps,
Nikki
