1893 Plat Book from the Urbana, ILL Library shows that John owned landin Section 21 South of Ogden Ill.It used to be called North Homer Township. The spelling on the land deed is MILOR, from the Every Name Card File at the Urbana Library. His obituary follows:
JOHN MYLER FALLS DEAD
WELL KNOWN OGDEN CITIZEN A VICTIM OF HEART DISEASE TUESDAY-----OGDEN,MARCH 27, 1900
This company was startled this morning when it became known that John Myler, living 1 1/4 miles south of town, had been found dead about 6:30 by John Alsip and Will Nonnemacher. The deceased had been in apparently good health and was on his way to haul corn for S. W. Perkins. He had covered about three-fourths of the distance, when he was compelled to dismount and lead his team through a gate on the east side of Mr. Perkin's farm.He turned to close it, as is supposed, and fell dead, heart disease being the probably cause. He was lying behind the wagon, out of reach of the horses and there was no marks upon his person to indicate any other means of death.Messrs.Alsip and Nonnemacher were following Mr. Myler and they soon reached the spot where he was lying.Assistance was summoned and the body of the unfortunate man was taken to the home of his son, where an inquest is being held this afternoon by Coronor Penny. At this time, no funeral arrangements have been made."
John's mother-in-law was Melissa Perkins - I wonder if this Mr. S.W. Perkins could have been a relative of hers?
Another newspaper account of the funeral follows here.
"The funeral of the late John M. Myler, whose sudden death appeared in Wednesday's News, was held from his home Thursday at 1:30 under the auspices of the Knights of Pytias, services being conducted by the life long friend of the family, Rev. Martin of Danville. The remains were interred at Bodkin cemetery, the K. of P. ritual being used. The deceased was born June 18, 1846 in Ross County, O.He came to Illinois in 1865 and united in marriage July 5, 1866 to Miss Amelia Harmeson.Of this union, three sons and two daughters were born, all of whom are living except the youngest daughter.Mr. Myler united with the New Light Church in 1884 and led an exemplary life. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful."
--Notice the spelling of his wife's name in the above. It was not Amelia, but Cornelia. The youngest daughter mentioned was Melissa.

In the 1900 census of Champaign Co, IL there is a listing for Charles M. Myler, born Aug. 1872, age 27 years, and married for 7 years, born in Ohio; lists parents as being born in Ohio and Indiana.Lists wife Aristona born Sept. 1875, age 24; lists John E. as brother, born Feb. 1888, at age 12; lists mother Cornelia, born November 1852, age 47, a widow (she died a few months after this census was taken); and Florence Firebaugh, a sister in law, age 17, birth of Nov. 1882.
So Charles and Aristona did not have their son Ralph by this time. -------
Charles' Obituary ran in the Minot Daily News.It is as follows:
"CHARLES MILTON MYLER, 77 of Minot, who had farmed 40 years near Douglas before moving to Minot 5 years ago, died at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday in a hospital where he had been a patient for three days.He had been ill since last March.

I need to check Jame's birthdate and census records for him, if able.He may have been born in 1826 or 1836.If 1836, he was 13 in the 1850 census which is accurate. There is no mention of him moving to ILL with the rest of the family.Believe he may have stayed and/or moved on somewhere else.

1.2.1 James Louis ("Louis") MYLER
----------------------------------------
Birth: 1850, Chillicothe, Ross Co. OH
Death: 1929, Kankakee Hospital, Kankakee, ILL
There is some question as to whether or not Martha Bean was his mother. The marriage date of Robert and Martha was very hard to read; could have been either 1853 or 1858.James moved from Ohio to Illinois in 1878, approximately 17 years after his father, Robert. He apparently was not raised with the rest of the family. At this time, this is one big mess and anybody's guess.
However, if James was born in 1850, and records indicate it was so, then Martha Bean was NOT his mother. There is a record of a Robert Myler marryingMartha Ann McClelland in Ross Co., OH on May 31, 1846.He was certainly in the area of the time, and Ann McClelland's daughter was Martha , the granddaughter of Hugh McClelland, who was the father-in-law of Robert's brother, William. In 1843, When Hugh's will was probated, it specified that Martha was to be given some money six years from now, or in 1849.
It seems kind of strange that Robert would marry his brother's niece, but Robert was a full 15 years younger than his brother William. At this time, this seems to make a lot of sense to me.James could be the son of Robert Myler and Martha McClelland, a granddaughter of Hugh McClelland. The brothers married niece and aunt! However, until I know for sure, I will leave it as is.

His tombstone states he was was born on Aug. 3, but the obit states he was born on Aug. 14th.Perhaps I copied it wrong.
Henry's obituary states that he was found dead at home by a neighbor, due to cardiac arrest.Mr. Redman found him.His daughter, Irene, later married a Redman.

Birth: 1857, OH
William had at least ten known children, but I know nothing of their descendents. At least four of the the ten were sons, so here are more unaccounted for Mylers.
In the 1880 census, William Henry's brother is living with his first cousin, John Milton Myler. His brother was Alonzo. This census lists John Milton as the head of the family, Alonzo is there as a cousin, and there is another cousin listed:named HENRY.But this census gives Henry as being age 30 (This William would have only been 23).It also gives the birthplace of the Henry in the census as Denmark; our William Henry was born in Ohio.

The marriage came from an application of marriage from the Urbana Library. There are no dates for reference on it.I have Addie dying before 1961, as she is listed in her brother Alonzo's obituary as having predeceased him.She is not listed by name; just "a sister", but it is the only sister Alonzo had that I am aware of.

1.2.3.3 Alonzo Canada MYLER
----------------------------------------
Birth: 1 Mar 1893, ILl
Death: 18 Jan 1961
Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Danville, IL
The obituary records of the Urbana Library state that Alonzo Canada was the son of the above parents, but these same records list Lester, Roy, Harold, and Floyd as his sons.Because of the birth dates of these four men, I believe they were his brothers, not his sons.He could not have fathered a child 2 years before he was born. The obituary records also state that he had one sister who preceded him in death - probably Addie. So we have a death date (about) for Addie.
