The Summer 2005 issue of ANTIQUES & FINE ART magazine on p. 129 also(see my previous posting on the Mygatt Genforum site) pictures an excellent 1799 portrait of Mrs. Comfort Starr Mygatt (Lucy Knapp) and her son George by the "deaf and dumb" artist John Brewster, Jr. (1766-1854). The original of this portrait is in the Palmer Museum of Art, The Pennsylvania State University.

I am scanning this portrait in case any of the Mygatt's descendants might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. These two portraits, probably of the whole family at the time, are superb.

My email address can be found by clicking on my name above. Please reply to me directly at this address by email rather than by posting a reply on this site, which I may not see.

If it were a portrait of a Mr. Pease, I'd sure want someone to do the same for me.

Bill Pease, Lancaster, PA
