Henry Myers family from Baltimore
Posted by: Larry Myers (ID *****9935) Date: June 17, 2008 at 08:29:57

I am trying to track down Henry Myers a wagon maker from Baltimore. He moved his family to Pittsburgh/Mckeesport PA around 1847 to make wagons under government contract for the Mexican War. A James Ryan, a hardware maker "Tinner", many have moved with him. On April 14 1857, four of Henry Myers' children were killed in The Baltimore Fire of April 14 1857. They were shipped to Pittsburgh the next day to be buried in the Myers cemetery lot.

Henry's wife was Marie Engle Myers. Her brother George Engle made a claim to the Fireman's Fund Insurance a month later for the grocery and liquor Store that was destroyed in that fire. The store was located at the corner of North and Pleasant streets in Baltimore.

Does anyone know of this family from Baltimore?
