The other households listed in this 1696 "census" tend to list wives/mothers by their maiden name, and typically right after the husband/head of hoursehold.This leads me to believe that Isobel Mutter might have died before 1696, leaving Adam Fleming a widower with as many as eight children (including the John you mentioned, and a namesake daughter, Issobel).
