I have just discovered, after years of looking, that the parents of Jasper P. MWhite are Louisa A. MWhite and James T. MWhite. They are in the 1870, 1880 census of Robeson Co, NC.
They appear as White in the 1910 and 1920 census, same county.
No wonder there was always a deadend when I searched for White!
I believe that Louisa was Musselwhite in 1850 and 1860 census, born in <1845>, and that perhaps, James T was a McWhite. Thus, the M is in front of their surnames.
Anyone come across these dear ones? HELP!
