advertising a reward for their recapture.(His older brother, JOHN
MUSGROVE III, was in Warren & Jefferson Co., GA at the time and his
younger brother, PHILLIP MUSGROVE, was believed to be in Emanuel Co.,
GA, and they probably helped in the escape.WILLIAM T. MUSGROVE and
family fled back to South Carolina and also Cocke Co. TN (upper
northeast of Tenn) and stayed a few years. From the birthplace of his
children, only one was born in Georgia, two in Tenn and the rest in

Since he seems to have died intestate (without a will), his son, JOHN,
SR. inherited his property and willed it to his oldest son, EDWARD, who
sold it.JOHN, JR. inherited land in Virginia and also half of wild
horses breeding stock, etc., which he took to South Carolina with him.

I don't know who wrote the MUSGROVE family history. It is not
completely accurate but, it seems to have come through the family line
of WILLIAM T. MUSGROVE's son, JOHN TATE MUSGROVE, via his son, The Rev. PHILLIP McCARTY's descendents. It mentions MARGARET who married LEWIS WATSON BRADLEY.

I am descended via DR. EDWARD GORDON MUSGROVE's son, LOUIS V. MUSGROVE, one of the sons who had left home, but returned in 1852.He is not shown on the 1850 census, but is on the 1860 census in Walker Co., AL.
He is also shown on the 1870 and 1880 census, but not later.LOUIS V.
married VILINDA VIOLET GANEY, a daughter of DORMAN H. GANEY and SUSAN ANDERSON of 1850 and 1860 census in Walker Co., Ala.(Two of DORMAN's sons married daughters of SOLOMON RAY of Winston Co., Ala.I don't know if related to the RHEA family or not).
