After reading your response, I re-read my original. I have found better information on my Murrays, mut not nearly enough.
William Edward Murray, born abt. 1831, m Mary Tillotson. According to the information I have found they had 3 children, William Richard b 1854, Rufus b 1862 and Virginia b 1854. William Edward, Mary, William Richard and Virginia are in the 1860 Mecklenburg Census. In 1870 William Richard and Rufus are living with their grandmother Jualianna Gregory Tillotson. I have found no records for the others that year or later.
The parents of William Edward are a complete mystery, however I do have a theory. It's too long to put on the board, but if you are interested, email me at murray_fitts@comcast.net.
