I am descended from this family through Elizabeth Anne Murrell.
Wiley Anderson Murrell and Mary Magdalene Hontz/Hunts/ Hontz/etc. were both b. VA, she in Botetourt Co., his county unk. He was b. 03 Feb 1805, she was b. 09 Sep 1806. They marr. 10 March/ 04 Apr 1834 in Botetourt Co. VA. His father's name was John Murrell, her par Henry Hance and Catharine Coffman. In 1853 they moved to IL, and are listed in 1860 US census in Swan Twp., Warren Co., IL in dwelling 291. (Some researchers have slightly different dates.) Both are buried in Greenlief Cemetary, Jasper Co., IA. Their children, all b. Botetourt, VA, were
Elizabeth Ann(e) b. 01 Feb 1835, marr. 08 Mar 1857 in Roseville, Warren, IL to John Roberts, d. 02 Feb 1917 in Prairie City, Jasper, IA;
John Henry b. 02 July 1837, poss marr to Lydia Raburn in IL, d. 23/25 Mar 1880;
Mary Catharine, b. 18 Sep 1839, d. as child 06 Nov 1846;
William Anderson b. 25 May 1841, m 01 Oct 1867 Warren Co. IL poss to Cordelia Tally (was marr. to her aft 1917 when his sis Eliz. d., and living in Roseville, he d. aft 1917;
James Edward b. 15 Nov 1842, marr 17 Nov 1867 to Mary E. Robinson;
Ann Elisy (Eliza?) b 21 Dec 1845, d. 02 May 1892 in Jasper Co, IA, marr to Aaron brown (d 19 Mar 1894).
