Thanks for all your your help finding the family. I have been trying to find George and his daddy in the 1870 census for the longest time. I have been using heritage quest. I was trying to find them in Mississippi and Virginia and totally forgot about Missouri. I found on another website that George's mama was Mary Tensley. At least now I have an idea that Clandy was Claire. Thanks again. The family is insisting that there is proof of indian blood, but they still haven't told me how yet, so my search goes on.
