Murray Family of Ireland and Australia
This information might come in useful at some point to anyone researching a Murray family who emigrated from Co. Antrim in Northern Ireland to Australia in the 1840s:
The records of Portglenone 2nd Presbyterian Church (in the parish of Portglenone), Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland, list the marriage of a William Murray of Drumraw townland (located in Portglenone parish, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland) to a Jane 'McGaa' (this should possibly be 'McGee' or 'McGaw', etc) on 3 November 1836.Jane 'McGaa' was from 'near Cullybackey' at the time of the marriage (not far from Portglenone).
A later note, inserted beneath their marriage entry, states: 'Gone to Australia, 30 September 1847'.
Hope this proves useful to someone at some point.
