Though none of the names you are researching are familiar to me, nor are the names of Frank's children, I find it interesting that a William Joseph Murray was the City Editor of The New York Herald in the 1920's and 30's. [I don't know when the Herald merged with the Tribune.] He began his career at the paper as the police beat reporter while attending law school. He followed Augustine E. Costello in that position.William MAY have been related to a Frank (Francis D.) Murray who ran for NY State Assemblyman and was defeated in 1941 or so.William's wife and his cousin's wife campaigned for Frank since, by that time, William was employed by the Federal government in his community and was prohibited from being openly political because of the Hatch Act. Frank went on to be a Village Justice for the villages of Alden and Stewart Manor, NY (Nassau County).Frank Murray married a Rose Mary Murray of the Jersey City, NJ, Murrays.I do not know if they had any prior family relationship.I've always assumed that the names being the same were just a coincidence.
Did you ever look through the NYHT's obituaries or "morgue"?I think that one of the Texas universities owns the morgue.I know that The NYTimes did not print William's
wedding announcement in 1914, so it may not have run your Frank's obituary.I do not know when that sort of petty rivalry died out.Maybe it never did for some papers until they themselves died out.Have you tried all the show business and theatre periodicals looking for obituaries? There is also an association of theatre critics and another for theatre owners.Try some of the university and public libraries that have theatre collections.I would think that the collection of The NYPublic Library at Lincoln Center would have something about him.
Good luck.
