William Belton Murrah is my husband's great-grandfather. He was the first President of Millsaps College. He moved to Memphis, TN to be the Methodist Bishop at some point and his descendants are still here. Yes, Murrah High school and road are named for him and there is a Murrah Hall at Millsaps. I am pretty sure his father was also William Murrah, but have no info on him. William B. "the Bishop"'s wife was Beulah Fitzhugh and they had a son, Captain William Fitzhugh Murrah, an attorney here in Memphis and my husband's grandfather.
