Silas Murrah AL/MS children

Hi Murrahs,

I am new to this forum, and I have read the previous postings re: Silas Murrah. Thanks to Sherry Turner Casey, Susie & Dale Murrah, Marlin Worrells, and Kristi Simmons for their postings. I'm trying to resolve one vexing problem, and someone here may have the answer (crossed fingers ;-). I have a gggrandfather, Rufus Levi Murray (1900 in LA but b. in MS), whose particulars (age, parental birthplace, etc.) fit the 1880 Clay Co. census entry for the children of Silas (John W., Archy L, Josephine, Rufus, etc.) This conflicts with other data that suggests that the Rufus in the 1880 census is really George Washington "Rufe" Murrah. I'm looking for evidence, other than the fact that the two have similar name/nickname, to either quit this (perhaps quixotic) search or continue. Of particular interest is any 1880 census data that puts G.W. "Rufe" Murrah in some other household or that "Rufe" has other parentage.

Thanks very much for any help ANYONE can provide.

Regards, Dale
