Hi Lori,
The proper name for that hospital at THAT TIME was "Holy Cross Hospital."(I know...I used to work there!)However, the hospital has been sold many times since then and I believe it is now owned by a large corporation.Regardless of ownership, they are probably the KINDEST hospital in Utah.Have you contacted THEM to see if they have ANY information?I realize that the "official birth certificate" was of little help but your mother's medical records may contain some "clues."For instance, a nurse may have made a notation about a male visitor.Hospital stays were VERY long for child-birth back in those days...and even longer with twins. The longer hospital stay would have given the nurses more time to make notes in your mother's chart. It is AMAZING what information those nurses's notes can contain. Also, the chart will ABSOLUTELY tell the religion of your birth mother.(Holy Cross Hospital *always* lists religion.)If your mother was Catholic (highly unlikely), then Catholic Charities may have been involved in the adoption. Please contact me directly if I can be of any assistance to you.I no longer live in Utah but I still know my way around the LDS Family History Library.
Happy New Year!
:)
