Edward Murphy of Donaghmore Parish, Co. Tyrone
Posted by: Allison White (ID *****5905) Date: September 18, 2013 at 14:36:57

Edward Murphy, Native of Donaghmore Parish, County Tyrone (according to New York Emigrant Savings Bank records).

Born abt 1797 (according to age on death certificate).

Married Ann/Anne Loughran of Killeeshil Parish, Co. Tyrone, 20 Jan 1818, at Tullyallen Mass House.

Emigrated Feb 1848 on the ship Ashburton (according to the New York Emigrant Savings Bank records), but I have searched HI AND LOW and have yet to find this family on this ship on this date. Not sure if Edward came first or with family, but wife and a few children's bank accounts have this same date. Wife, Anne, children Ann, Michael, Rose. Andrew (son) emigrated in 1841 on the ship Neptune (I have found this record).

There are other children that I have not found emigration/immigration documentation for: James, May, Neil/Neal.

Children's names were documented on Letter of Administration upon Edward's death.

Edward's brother Andrew Murphy (emigrated 1833 from Belfast via Quebec, Canada on the Brig Sylvanus/Silvanus).

Any help or info is greatly appreciated,
Allison
