I am not sure how much you interested in the Alamo and who was there. I have been researching the Lee Myers Murphy Stewart/Stuart and Smithwick families who were more or less connected to Davy Crockett. Maybe a coincidence and maybe not.

The path with these families over 100 years would be from Saratoga NY to Pittsburgh to NC to Houston to Lincoln County New Mexico to Tombstone AZ and on to Los Angles. They would also be related to Sam Houston, CSA General David Emanuel Twiggs and maybe General John C Fremont.
