My GG Grandfather was John M. Hoover but family legend claims he was not a Hoover but a Murphy or even possibly a Murdy. He firt appeared in the 1850 Kentucky census giving his age as 27 (1823) . a Census later would have him born in 1824. We can't find any mention of his parents only that he was possibly born in VA (Shenandoah County, maybe)He married Nancy Jane Sizemore, Daughter of George Samuel ( Goldenhawk) Sizemore. An indian who claimed to have fathered between 54 and 57 children. John and Nancy lived in Floyd Co KY.
If anyone is missing a John from their family tree please forward info that I can check out. This needs to be solved before we older family members pass away.
thank you for any help
