Murphy in my family tree was the son of Malcolm Murphy & Teresa Pilcher Murphy. George was born in 1829 in Georgia, married Mary Jane Johnson and died in 1862 during the Civil War in Richmond, VA. George & Mary Jane moved to Henry County, Alabama with his parents in the 1850's. I got most of this information from the "History of Schley County, Georgia" book.
