In case it is of interest to anyone, there is a portrait of Mr. J. T. Murphy posted on deadfred.com:

This picture of Mr. J. Thomas Murphy appears on page 500 of The Canadian Horticulturist, vol.XXVI, no.12, December 1903. Please see that reference for more details. Mr. Murphy lived in Simcoe in Canada all his life. He was involved in horticulture and was secretary of the Simcoe Horticultural Society and was also involved in the Norfolk Poultry Association. That is all the information I have on this picture. I am not researching this line, just saw the photo and thought I'd post it.
