John H. (aka Pete) Murie was born (I think) in the USA (he was a US citizen) m: Margery Anderson. She had a son Robert who took on the Murie name.
Around 1937, Pete and Margery came to Hamilton, Ont. Canada from Jamestown, Ohio, USA. Pete had been sent to set up and train men at Stelco Steel Mills in the new Sheet Mill. While in Hamilton he contacted the family of David Murie and found they were related. (I do not know the relationship and would like to know).
I have this info on Pete.
REPORTED MISSING - John H. Murie, S 1/c, 43, aboard the USS Hull one of three destroyers reported lost in a typhoon in the Pacific war theater, has been declared missing in action by navy department. His wife the former Margery Anderson of Tiltonville, joined the WACS somewhere in the Pacific. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Murie, reside in Dillonvale. source: newspaper clipping.
Margery died in a Vet hospital in Gary Indiana.
