I tried to send you a message directly however the msn.clm host was not found?
It is so good to hear from anyone related to this family! At least I hope these are the same family.
Here is the information I have.
Alva Murdick was born on Jan 7, 1804 in New York, this according to the census and death record. He died Jan 19, 1871 in Hancock Co OH and is burried in Eagle Creek Cemetery, Hancock CO, OH. This death information
comes from an internte contact person with Hancock Co records who did a lookup for me. His wife Eliza is burried next to him and she died on Jan 16, 1892.
As far as I have, from census records, they had the follwoing children:
Louisa H. MURDICK (born about 1828, NY).
L. W. MURDICK was born about 1830 in New York.
Wellington C. MURDICK (born about 1835).
Loretta C. MURDICK (born about 1837, OH).
Warren P. MURDICK (born about 1840, OH).
Alvin F. MURDICK (born on October 3, 1841, OH).
Helen E. MURDICK (born on August 2, 1845, OH).
Elvira MURDICK (born about 1848, OH).
Is L. W. Above your Lucinda? According to the information I have both Louisa and Loretta were married to Hiram Caldwell, Loretta first on Oct 5, 1865 then Louisa in Nov of 1866.
I think their is a possibility that Alva is related to Samuel and David although they were born 16 years apart (in the case of David). With that as the proposition then we would presume that the parents of Alva (and
Samuel and David) moved from New York to OH sometime before 1815.
However, Alva married in NY and his first two children Louisa and L. W. were born in NY. Doesn't mean he didn't move back to New York when he got married and later moved back to OH.
What do you have on the family. Do you know where in New York they came from? I haven't found any good clues even to possible New York Counties.
Let me know what information you have and we can begin to piece this thing together. Have you ever traveled to Ashland or Hancock Counties to search records their? I live in Little Rock, AR and so have not yet made
a genealogy trip to that area.
Look forward to hearing back from you.
