Hello Mr. Guffin,
I am hoping you might be able to help me with my MURDOCKs' from South Carolina. I have a John MURDOCK b. abt. 1794 in S.Car. who is listed on the 1860 Clay Co., Indiana Census with this family....Wife Nancy b. abt. 1816, Georgia; children Jane bca 1839, Georgia;John bca 1842, Georga; John bca 1842, Georgia; Catherine bca 1846, Ga.; Martha A. bca 1848, Ga.; Lucy L. bca 1850, Ga.; and Ezra M. bca 1858, Ga.
Their daughter, Sarah is listed below them married to Alford Mathews (who dies in Civil War)....According to Sarahs pension papers they were married in Cobb Co. Georgia. Sarah then marries my gr-gr-grandfather, John W. ROYSTER, who was also born in Franklin, Georgia. The MURDOCKS and the ROYSTERs seem to have many marriages between their families....Is my John related to the MURDOCKS you are researching? Thank you!
