Hi Melissa,

I too am researching MURDOCH's in Australia.

My gggrandfather Thomas MURDOCH/K was born Abt. 1807 Glasgow, Scotland (as per his death certificate 1902 aged 95yrs Dubbo, NSW)

He arrived in the colony abt 1842 where, how not known (on his death certificate is states he had been in the colony for 60 years). Married Ellen MURPHY (born Ireland) 1853 Melbourne. Places family resided Castlemaine district VIC, Goulburn NSW, Parkes NSW and Dubbo NSW.

Thomas and Ellen had the following children:

Mary b. 1854 Castlemaine Vic d. 1859
Patrick b. 1856 Campbells Ck Vic
Ellen b. 1858 Campbells Ck Vic d. 1859
Thomas b. 1860 Campbells ck Vic
Mary b. 1864 Bradford Vic
(John) Richard b. 1865 Bradford Vic (my ggrandfather)
William A b. 1868 Goulburn NSW
Ellen Grace b. 1869 Goulburn NSW

By my estimation Thomas was 45/46 years of age when he married Ellen and was 34/35 when he arrived in the colony. I don't know if Thomas was married previously, it is possible. There are two other daughters mentioned on his death certificate that I can't account for they were Catherine and Jane.

I know this is a long shot, but is there a possibility of a connection.

Kind regards
Yanderra, Southern Highlands, NSW
