I was wondering if you are looking for a James Murdock b. 1845-1846? My g grandfather James was born 6/1/1845 or 1846. He never talked about his family, leading us to beleive he was not on good terms with them. We think he ran away from home at an early age. We also think the family came from one of the Carolinas then to Ohio.We know James came to Pa, and married my g grandmother Mary Hice in Indiana County, Pa. His death certificate has born in Ohio. Father from Scotland, mother from Germany, but it didn't give their names. I found him on the military census, so I know he entered the Civil War at the age of 17. If you think this James Murdock could tie in to your family, you can email me. We have been trying to find this family for years, but just can't seem to connect our James to anyone.
