Annie: I can't give you any help on those two specific individuals, but feel certain that there's a connection with my MURDOCK line (and maybe my MONEY line).
My grandmother was Aria Mazuror Murdock b 8-20-1887, dau of Washington Alexander Murdock (died 9-16-1935 in Coffee Springs, Coffee Co., Ala) Some of my grandmother's sister/brothers lived, and died, in Coffee Co. Others in Geneva Co. (next County over)
There's a book "The Murdock Family" that is the history of this Murdock family, written by Larry James Murdock, 209 Aspen Circle, Dothan, Alabama 36303. Don't know if it has your Robert Murdock in it or not. The genealogy goes back to about the mid 1700's.

The only "MONEY" in my database is Margaret Money, b 1712, married John Fillingham, Sr. in Maryland on 3-12-1733/34. The Fillingham/Fillingim families migrated to NC, then on down to Georgia and Alabama (Barbour, Dale, Pike & other counties) Perhaps some of the MONEY families did likewise.
Sorry I couldn't give you more specific help.
