I don't know if we are talking about the same Wm Murdock. But My GG Grandma's oldest brother was Wm Murdock. He can from County Down Ireland and lived down around Chico Ca.
He had a large ranch down there which he ran with his brother Hance. There were 13 children in his family I know of 10. I know that 3 of them plus a cousin joined Wm in Ca. I know that My GG Grandmother Mary Ellen Compton died in Colusa CA.
