Graeme's mention of an Archibald and an Alexander should lead on to later Forkhill namesakes (mentioned in Kyla Madden's book "Forkhill Protestants and Forkhill Catholics") (McGill 1-84631-017-2 paperback).
Perhaps someone may have info on the parents of John Murdock Dick, b.Forkhill 1846, d. Whitechapel 1916. John Murdock Dick m. Mary Jane Stewart in Forkhill Parish Church on 17 Nov 1874.
He must have been very proud of his Murdock connection - even his Army Reserve enlistment paper is signed (the year before he died) in 1915 "John Murdock Dick".
I suspect his father was a James Dick (b.1817 in Forkhill). His mother surely must have been a Murdock - can this be confirmed?
