The source of the marriage information is from a book entitled "BUTTS COUNTY, GEORGIA MARRIAGES 1826-1926 THE FIRST HUNDRED YEARS". It was written by the Butts County Genealogical Society.
The source of the Macon County, Alabama Court House information is from my own research at this court house.
I am not decended from the Murdock's or the Hammond's. There is a Murdock and Hunter connection in Macon County. One of my GG Grandfather's daughters, Nancy E. Hunter, married Milas Samuel Murdock in 1884, in Macon Co. Milas Samuel Murdock (Jr.) was a son of Samuel J. Murdock who was listed as an heir of the Milas S. Murdock (Sr.) estate. Other listed heirs included Mary Ann Hammond, wife of Samuel Hammond.
I traced this Murdock family from Macon County, AL back to Butts County, GA., where Mary Ann Murdock and Samuel Hammond were married.
