Who was the first husband of Was Elizabeth Kern Collins and was the first husband related in some way to Murdocks? The reason I ask is that in the 1850 census, my ancestor, Thomas Jefferson Murdock, had a Ellen Collins, age 17, living with him in Cincinnati, Ohio. I would like to know who she was and how she was related.
Thomas Jefferson Murdock descends from William Murdock (of Boone & Fayette Counties, Kentucky, and Westmoreland & King George Counties, Virginia) and Elizabeth Thornley. William Murdock descends from Joseph Murdock (of King George County, Virginia) and Mary Tankersley. Joseph Murdock descends from Jeremiah Murdock (of King George County, Virginia and Prince Georges County, Maryland), brother of John Murdock of Maryland.
