In the 1860 census of Wolf Creek and Cropwell Twps, St. Clair County, AL, I found the following. This indicates that the mother of your John Flavius was most likely the "Caroline T" listed below.

It appears that John C. Murchison (likely the father of Wm. A.) also had a second family. I believe that Elizabeth, Sofrona and Susan listed below were probably the children of his 2nd wife, Lucinda.
