I am looking for information on Frederick Nutter m. Maggie (Margaret) Murch 15 Sep 1866 in Franklin Co., Indiana. I believe Frederick is the father of my great-grandfather, Charles Nutter, who was raised in an orphanage in Cinncinatti, Ohio. Charles may have had a brother John b. 1868 Ohio (who worked as a coal miner in Sheridan Co., Wyoming in 1900, had son Ervin b. March 1898 Missouri and daughter Minnie b. August 1896 Missouri), sister Eva b. 1872 Indiana, sister Maggie b. 1874 OH, brother Frederick (b. 1876 or 1874 OH, boarder at hotel in 1900 in IN where living close to uncle Leonard Murch, in 1910 living with family in Butler Co., OH), and sister Amy b. 1870 OH. According to family lore, he had 3 more sisters.
I have been able to track Frederick (b. Aug. 1836 in Switzerland) through the census records. He emmigrated in 1851. In 1860, he was living with family in Franklin Co., IN as farm laborer. In 1870, he was living in Butler Co., OH and was married to Maggie Murch. In 1880, living in Franklin Co., IN. In 1900 he was living in Butler Co., OH but with new wife Nancy (Bolser) Slattery and her 2 children. In 1910, he was living in Butler Co., OH with new wife Clarinda to whom he was married 3 yrs.
My great-grandfather, Charles Nutter, left the orphanage when he was able and came to Camden Co., Missouri where he lived for the rest of his life. If anyone knows about these Nutters and thinks there is a connection between this family and my Charles, please e-mail me! Thanks!
