Robert Munt of Kent Co., DE 1767
The LDS filmed (0006494) Tax Levy Lists for Kent Co., DE show that in 1767 a Robert Munt and Christopher Ratledge jointly "possessed" 135 acres of land in Dover Hundred. They had cleared 30 acres which included a saw mill. The land owned by Charles Ridgely.
Probate records from "Calendar of Kent Co., DE Probate Records" by DeValinger show that a Mary Munt wrote a will in July 1758 naming her children, Robert, Elenor, Abigal, Charity. Also names Robert's wife, Mary Ann. Will was probated Sept. 1758. (Arch. vol A37, pg 78-91. Reg of Wills, Liber K, folio 188-189)
In August 1775, Mary Munt, widow of Robert was given the administration of her husband's estate. (Reg. of Wills, Liber L, folio 171)
Christopher Ratledge m. to widow Elizabeth Quilling Hannah in 1766 in Dover Hundred.
If anyone working on this family, I'm curious as to the relationship,if any, of the Munt and Ratledge family.
