don, i am just reading this as i am not actively doing genealogy studies on the family. but i am a decendant of Daniel thru John-Thomas-Thomas-Alfred-Roy-Russell ( my father ).
you might want to try this site that has lot of infomation on the Munros of Whitehead Nova Scotia

i would be intrested in any Scotish history of Daniel and/or the highland 77th regiment of foot as i believe he was solider in that regiment ...
