I am not related - this is part of a transcription project.

from "Printers and Printing in Providence, 1762 - 1907"
prepared by a committee of Providence Typographical Union #33 as a souvenir of the 50th anniversary of its institution
printed in 1907

"The Journeymen"
p. LIX.

"JAMES WRIGHT MUNROE - Born Bristol, R. I., Aug. 21, 1821; died in Providence Aug. 10, 1905. He was a carrier for the Morning Courier and served an apprenticeship on that paper, beginning in 1835. He left the business because of his objections to working on Sundays. He was crier of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court at the time of death, having served the State as deputy sheriff or court crier for 40 years."
