History of the Munro's from Mossel Bay, South Africa

I'm searching for information on the history of the Munro's from Mossel Bay. I've been told by family members that our Great GrandFather (or something) used to own most of Mossel Bay, 'centuries' ago. He came from Scotland after a feud with the family, took his inheritance and bought Mossel Bay, but he was an extreme Gambler, so he gambled all his riches and property away.
When he took his inheritance, the Family in Scotland wrote him off as an family member... I don't even know if all this is true, but apparantly the whole history of the Munro's of Mossel Bay is in the Museum in Mossel Bay. I never had the opportunity to go and check it out...
My Grandfather was known as "Ou Bok". I didn't know him all to well, because the family didn't like the woman(my mother) whom my father (one of his son's) married. We just used to call him "Oupa Bok". I assume that he had the names "Johannes,Petrus and Jakobus" in his name, since he gave those to some of his children. My father however was called Deon Edward Munro. Doesn't know if that help at all.
All I want to find out is my history...where I came from.
Please help.
