Hello,
I am searching for any information prior to 1850 on Ralph Munger born 1/30/1798 in New York. I know that in 1850 he was in French Creek, Chautauqua Co., NY, married to Sally Munger(May) and had 3 sons, Orville, Myron and Manley.

Also, if any one can tell me about obtaining a marriage license for 1865 or 1866 in NY. I am interested in knowing more about Orville's wife Augusta, born 1843 in NY. I have no maiden name or death date for her.

Family legend has it that Augusta was one of 10-12 children of former lady in waiting, Lady Germaine (or more like personal maid) to the Queen of France. She ended up marrying a commoner, Canadian or French-Candian fisherman who was at sea when she died. They had no money to bury her so the Catholic Church wouldn't help. The oldest son went to the Protestant minister who consulted with the Methodist minister and he agreed to bury her and take 1/2 children and Methodist took other 1/2. When the father returned from sea he said to ministers after finding out where his family was, "you keep them, I can't take care of them" and went back to sea. There is supposed to be a street named after her as well.

So, at some point the French-Canadian couple came to NY or met there and had their children.
Any advice on whether this can be researched or am I crazy! If this sounds even remotely familiar to any researcher I'd like to know!
I apologize for the length....thank you in advance to any advice or direction.
