This genealogy stuff gets interesting! In your response you refer to the "Munger Book." How does one gain access to this book? My given name is Joel Parker Monger and I was told that the "Joel" and the "Parker" were chosen from family people. In the 1860 Census, the Munger family in Lorain, Ohio, consisted of Sarah, Parker, Arabelle, Gamahiel, Adeline, and Adelbert. I think you have gotten me back farther after Adlebert to the "John Munger" born in August 1785. As stated, you believe he may have been born in Sangersfield NY. In the family recollections, Henry Adelbert Monger living in Amherst Ohio and son of Fennow Adelbert Munger (Note the change in spelling from Munger to Monger) would visit relatives in Wakeman Ohio. I have found a Munger in Wakeman Ohio named Sheldon or Shelden. Sheldon was the son of Rufus Munger. Sheldon was born in Ithaca NY on February 12 1829 and came to Ohio with his parents in 1833. Could he be related to John Munger? This could be a link. I have not yet found anything more about Parker Munger or Gamahiel Munger. I do appreciate your patience and responses.
