Hello Wendy, I have just read your message, and it seems that we may be related.

I have been told that someone in our family has traced the Mungeams back to the 14th Century, when 3 brothers came to England from Belgium. One settled in Rochester (and went on to become the first chartered Mayor of Rochester), another settled in Berkshire, and the 3rd settled in Cobham.

My Grandmothers, Mothers name was Janet Cordelia Mungeam (born 03/01/1889), and was born in Southfleet. She had four brothers Wilfred, Freeman, Frank and Albert, she also had a sister Grace, who emigrated to Canada - The only problem is that I am only aware of four brothers. I am aware that Freeman fought in the 1st world war, (in the Royal Artillery Service)and lost a leg.

I am sure that there must be a connection, but until I can get further information from Grandmother, cannot be sure.

I think that perhaps we should discuss in more detail any possible links?

This is the 1st time that I have posted a message here, so I am unsure what happens next. Hopefully you will get back to me somehow?

Regards,

Martin Ramsey
