In 1722 Robert Munford and John Anderson received the first grant in Brunswick County, VA of 2811 acres on Cocks Creek, now Poplar Creek, now partly in Mecklenburg County, VA, just East of Interstate 85. Robert is also noted as overseer of one or more of Col. William Byrd's plantations , see "The Secret Diary of William Byrd,"Wright and Tinling, Dietz Press, Richmond, VA 1941. I am tracking the John Anderson. Paul
