My Munford ancestors are back in the early 18th century, I don't know anything about Munfords in the 1890's. My ancestors spelled their name Munford, Mumford, ond Montford. In one document, their name is spelled Mumpford. They were all the same family. Apparently the name means "one who comes from Mundsford (Munda's river crossing) in Norfolk and several places in England".
