I have been doing some research on the mundell family too as my mother is a mundell, her great grandfather John Mundell born 1835 mousewald, who married Janet Brown had a son called andrew mundell but in 1860. As families used the same name from uncles and aunts in those days their might be a connection. Im afraid I'm the same, this is as far as I have got. I keep meaning to go to the family search centre in Dumfries but haven,t found the time.
