I have discovered a Census record in 1871 that records the MUMFORD family as listed below as MUNFORD's;
Thomas MUNFORD age 32
Christiana Ann MUNFORD age 26
William MUNFORD age 5
Roda MUNFORD age 3
Charles MUNFORD XX Months
The family residence in 1871 was recorded as;
Underwood Villiage Private House # 36
Please note that all these MUNFORD's are recorded as MUMFORD in all subsequent census surveys in 1881, 1891 and 1901.
