Hi Melissa!
Thanks for the new info. I always knew that the Mulvihills initially settled in Leeds Co. According to my research, records show Daniel was resident in Westport, Leeds Co., by 1841. This means that Thomas and James - our respective gg grandfathers - were, indeed, born in Ireland, and the following five siblings were all born in Canada. The name variations are interesting. Mulville doesn't surprise me, but Mulveyhed is a new one on me! Just for accuracy's sake, records from Ontario Archives show that Daniel married Mary Ann GANT (Collins) in Brechin, Ontario (down the road from Uptergrove) at St. Andrews Church on November 11, 1877. Thank you for mentioning that Johanna CONNORS, his first wife, is buried at St. Columbkille's R.C. cemetary. Although I did not grow up in Uptergrove, my siblings and I were all baptised at St. Columkille's. My grandparents lived literally in the shadow of the church. The next time I am in Uptergrove, I must look more closely at the headstones, now that I have more information at hand. Please do keep me posted if you manage to discover more info. about the family before they landed in Canada. Good luck in your research.
