Herman Wesley Mullins, 59, of Pennington Gap, VA, was born
on Thursday, March 23, 1950, in Lee County, VA, and passed
away Friday, October 30, 2009, at Bristol Regional Medical
Center in Bristol, TN.
He worked in construction and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Buster and
Mildred Jean Moore Mullins; two sisters, Doris Turner and
Irene Carlson; and one brother, Charlie Mullins.
Herman is survived by one daughter, Kristy Gayle Mullins
and fiance Fredrick Marion of Jonesville, VA; former wife
and close friend, Jackie Ely Mullins of Knoxville, TN; six
brothers, David Mullins and wife Sue of Winston-Salem, NC,
Steve Mullins and wife Tammy of Bloomington, IN, Johnny
Mullins of Pennington Gap, VA, Jessee Mullins and wife
Teresa of Winston-Salem, NC, William Mullins and wife
Terri of Jonesville, VA, and Danny Mullins of Noblesville,
IN; two sisters, Stella Whitley of Rose Hill, VA, and Lisa
Jackson and husband Michael of Flatwoods, VA; several
nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m., Monday, November 2,
2009, until time of services.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m., Monday, November 2,
2009, from the Sanctuary of Province Funeral Home with
Rev. Mike Humfleet officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday,
November 3, 2009, at Silver Leaf Cemetery in Rose Hill,
VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral
home at 10 a.m., Tuesday, to go to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Province
Funeral Home.
