Gary,
I have not taken any info from others without looking for proof. The fact that James did not leave a will and was stated in an Index by Bel Wise {Will Book 1, pg. 178} that John's settlement of his estate belonged to James is one point I want to make. I sent for the papers from Charlotte Co. VA. so I know she made an error which has misled many researchers. James Mullins that was married to Mary/Margaret Sullivan does not show anywhere that I am aware of that he has a son named John. He had a son named Stephen, and James, and a daughter named Mary. According to records searched these are the only children mentioned. James Jr. was named the guardian of his sister Mary. I cannot proof that John Mullins who was married to Joanna Terry is the father of Joel Mullins so far, is what I was referring to. I have found no records to proof it only family stories.
Joan
