Joan, Y-DNA test results of a male descendant of David Mullins (married Althaliah Boyd) do not match the Y-DNA of any of the men in the Mullins project who descend from William Mullins (1700-1735) of King William and Hanover Co.s, VA.

Prior to Y-DNA testing, many Mullins researchers believed that David's father John Mullins 1718-1772 Charlotte Co., VA--married Susannah, believed to be a dau. of Joseph Morton) was a son of William (1700-1735) and Catherine Mullins. Y-DNA testing has proved this was not so.

The Y-DNA of the David Mullins male descendant matches with other men in the project who descend from John Mullins (1718-1772), so we have no doubt that David Mullins was indeed a son of John and Susannah. All the men in the project who descend from John and Susannah share the same Y-DNA which does not match with any of the men in the project who descend from William Mullins (1700-1735).
