Rev. David L. Mullins, 80, of Knoxville, TN, went home to
be with the Lord June 26, 2009, after a brief illness. He
was born September 22, 1928.
He was ordained into the ministry on March 17, 1963.
Since his ordination he has pastored nine area churches
and was currently the associate pastor of Pleasant Hill
Baptist church. During his ministry he witnessed many
souls coming to know Christ.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years,
Mary Lee; parents, Samuel and Byra Mullins; five brothers;
and four sisters.
He is survived by his sons, Sam Mullins and wife Reva, and
Elmer Mullins all of Knoxville, TN; and granddaughter,
Tiffany and husband Brent Mdyett of Knoxville, TN.
We wish to send special thanks to his dear friends, Robert
and Heather Elliott for their beautiful gift of love and
friendship. Also to the members of Pleasant Hill Baptist
Church, St. Mary's Hospice and Mynatt Funeral Home for
their kindness and compassion during his illness and passing.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 27, 2009,
from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls
Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 28, 2009, at
2 p.m.,
at Pleasant Hill Baptist church with Reverend Lester
Mullins and Rev. L.B. Harrell officiating. Pallbearers
will be Jack Brady, Robert Elliott, Brady Noah, Donnie
Smith, H. B. Bunch, and Jack Keck. Honorary pallbearers
will be deacons of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the
service.
Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel is serving the family of
Rev. Mullins.
