I just read your post, and thought I'd give you a follow through. After a couple of years I finally found the connection to Francis A. Mullinix and Rezin Mullinix actually spelled Mollonix in the Maryland cencus, which is why he has been so hard to trace.Basil T. and Rezin were brothers, they were the sons of Robert Thomas Mullineaux/Mullinix and Ann Condon. Rezin was born in 1798 in Maryland and Married Rachel Leatherwood.. who's father was and mother were Samuel Leatherwood III and Hannah Buckingham.Rachel was born October 30th 1790, she was considerably older than Rezin. They had 3 children...Francis A. Mullinix, born in 1821... and died after falling off his horse in 1850.He was my great great grandfather. Then there was Charles Edward Mullinix, and unfortunately I don't have his statistics, then there was Mary Elizabeth who was born in 1832 and died in 1852.My grandpa told me that they were very close, and after Francis A. died...she died of a broken heart, but you know how family stories are.Francis A. married a woman named Lydia Stone and they had several children, one Francis L. Mullinix who was a drummer boy in the civil war when he was only 14... which afterwards moved west to Kentucky and married a woman named Margaret Mosley, and they had 10 children, one of whom is my grandfather Roy L. Mullinix... he was born McKinley Mullinix but hated the name and changed it to Roy...his friends called him Kinnie. Our family has lived in Southern Illinois now since the early 1900's, but upon occasion, wander our way back to Maryland to visit the old homeplace in Westminster. My dad John R. Mullinix was born there, as well as his brothers and sisters.I hope this information will help you.
